We are very excited to welcome live entertainment back with an impressive line-up to kick off the reopening of The Colosseum.  We have all missed the excitement, thrill and enjoyment entertainment brings to our lives and we are ready to rock, laugh and hear our guests’ cheers fill The Colosseum again. You can find more information on the upcoming shows here.

The provincial announcement last week removing the capacity and social distancing requirements created the opportunity for us to reopen The Colosseum. The removal of these restrictions also allows us to remove Plexiglass barriers and increase the number of table positions and slot machines, creating a more ‘normal’ experience for our guests.  As I mentioned in this week’s News Flash, while this is a positive step in the right direction, we have a long way to go. We continue to make operating decisions based on business trends and guest behaviour to align our business for long term sustainability.  With the vaccination requirement, border testing and masking mandates still in effect, the remaining restrictions are the ones currently compressing our business.

This month, the province also provided businesses with the Verify Ontario app to scan guests’ vaccination QR Codes.  You can read additional information on this option in the blog post here. A printed copy of vaccine certificates, along with proof of identification, will continue to be accepted.

I want to thank you all for your resilience and patience as we have worked through these changes and details together.  We have continued our focus on health and safety for you and our guests and I’m proud to announce we have been recognized with the Safe Travels Stamp Award by the Ontario Tourism Association.  This award is in recognition of both our policies and our execution – Congratulations!

While we work our way through the pandemic and look to brighter days ahead I encourage you to get vaccinated and protect yourself, your families, and your colleagues. Vaccination gives us the best chance to slow the spread of this virus and keep our community safe.

As I continue to keep you regularly updated on our business, please Save the Date of Thursday November 18 at 11:00 a.m. for our next virtual Town Hall.  I also encourage you to submit your questions on our Ask Us Anything form in preparation of this meeting.

Stay tuned for more exciting announcements in the future.
